KAPSALON de musical

Step inside the sacred space of the Afro hair salon. Listen to the hiss of hot combs, the rhythmic clicking of curlers, and the deep laughter rolling across the washbasins. This is not just a place to get your hair done; it is the cornerstone of a community, a place where time stands still for a moment and stories are passed from one person to another.

Kapsalon, the Musical is a new Dutch musical set in a barbershop: a place where stories, music, and generations come together. Amid mirrors, hairdryers, and salon chairs, a rhythmic story unfolds about grief, identity, and the universal desire to be loved and to belong.

The dialogue is raw, fast-paced, and energetic, moving effortlessly between politics, hairstyles, and heritage. The uplifting sounds of Afrobeats, hip-hop, pop, and gospel blend seamlessly with the ancestral spirit that lives within this community space.
The result: a burst of energy, full of unexpected twists and turns.
